The Nairn Drama Club is the owner, and resident company, of The Little Theatre with a vibrant history of past productions which we hope to showcase online soon.
Founded in 1946, in 1958 the club bought an old Salvation Army hall and a decrepit wooden coppersmith’s shed for £450 to make a very basic Little Theatre with wooden benches and six ancient spotlights. Actors dressed in the Links School and ran along Grant Street in Costume.
In 1983 and 2004 The Little Theatre was rebuilt and developed to give the club and touring drama and music groups professional standard facilities.
Activities include drama, comedy, revue, musicals, and – of course – the annual Pantomime!
The Little Theatre is staffed entirely by volunteers of the Nairn Drama Club. We are lucky to have many with professional experience in performance, dance, and direction along with experienced front of house and catering in addition to experts in technical disciplines such as stage management, lighting, sound, and scenic work.
