Tarland Cinema have been screening films monthly in the MacRobert Hall Tarland since September last year. Ken Loach’s The Old Oak was a big hit in the programme, so what better film for the festive December screening than his Scottish crime comedy The Angel’s Share? A celebratory blend of Whisky Galore and Trainspotting, the 2012 vintage still packs a punch and went well with the Tarland crew.

The evening was enhanced by the kind sponsorship of Lost Loch, who provided some refreshments in their Singular Series Gin. The Lost Loch Spirits distillery is in the heart of Royal Deeside, 30 miles west of Aberdeen. The distillery is built on the banks of the now drained Loch Auchlossan or the Lost Loch. The landscape and the history seep into the storytelling, flavours and branding. www.lostlochspirits.com

Lost Loch provided the perfectly balanced partnership for Ken Loach’s tale of crafty innovation and spiritual renewal. Cheers!

Tarland Cinema shows films in the MacRobert Hall every month, all screenings with hard of hearing subtitles. The hall opens at 6:30pm for chat and refreshments. Screening starts at 7:00pm. Contact [email protected] to join their mailing list; all are welcome.
