Since June 2022, NEAT has been engaging and supporting two groups of adults (Peterhead & Fraserburgh) in different levels of addiction recovery, living with mental health difficulties or living in social isolation. The project has been funded through the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.

The sessions are run by Susan McQuaker, a trained drama therapist. Her work focuses on improving participants’ well-being and confidence through creative and drama therapy techniques. Lynn Shaw, a creative practitioner, leads the programming element of the project. During this, the group learn transferable skills in event and arts management, enabling them to work as a team to promote theatre performances and film screenings in the Rescue Hall in Peterhead and Dalrymple Hall in Fraserburgh.

We are excited to share with you a short video which highlights and captures the project with the participants.
