Song For Haddo 2020: Fables & Foibles
Thursday 8 October 2020 @ 7:30 pm

Haddo Arts Festival 2020
In the entrance to Haddo House hangs a series of paintings depicting scenes from Aesop’s timeless fables.
Join the musicians of McOpera and an online cast of over a hundred local children and young people from Aberdeenshire schools, as they explore what these tales can tell us about living in today’s world, and find creative ways to connect with each other through music. This year’s virtual performance has given Haddo Arts festival the opportunity to bridge geographical distances to extend the reach of the Haddo musical community by engaging with the young singers of Dunbar Voices.
‘Fables and Foibles’ is composed by Moira Morrison and Peter Kemp for children’s voices and mentored wind ensemble.
The programme will end with a reprise of the original Song for Haddo. Composed by Moira Morrison as part of Haddo Arts Festival’s participation in the Snape Maltings Friday Afternoon Songs project in 2017, this magical song has featured in every Haddo Arts Festival since.
