When Walter’s parents arrive in post-war Aberdeen, the people of Torry discover that this young Scot is not who they assumed him to be.
A crisis ensues and Walter must make peace with his newfound identity and win back the confidence of his friends with a project to restore an old hobby boat.
An original, family play based on the life of Walter Kress, Holocaust refugee and adopted Aberdonian. His story explores the experience of what it meant to be ‘new Scots’ in 1940s Aberdeen.
As a local story, locally produced, the play is a showcase for excellence in the creative and performing arts from the North East.
